I just got back from vacation in France. I was travelling with my mother.
We flew in Nice and spent two lazy days there. We took a walk along the shore on the Promenade des Anglais, enjoying the stunning views over the Mediterranean. The Chagall museum was something that we wanted to be in Nice for, but unfortunately the museum was closed for renovations. Instead, we spent half a day in Musee Matisse.
Neither my mother nor I am interested in luxury brands like Chanel or Louis Vuitton. Rather we preferred open-air markets in the old town. Farmers and merchants were selling their products like flowers, fruits and vegetables, cheese, herbs, olives and soaps. We bought some lavender soaps, olive oil and dried tomatoes.
We had a wonderful time in Nice, but the day after we left for Avignon, the city was hit by heavy rain and flooding.
