Are you a dog person or a cat person?

I read an interesting news story on the ABC News website, which was about pet preference, or whether you like dogs over cats or the other way around.

Just to be sure, dog people are those who love dogs. Cat people obviously love cats.

I like cats but I always love dogs, so I’m more of a dog person. Likewise, I prefer to stay up late and I’m generally more productive and efficient in the nighttime. Obviously I’m a night person.

You can also use this ‘person phrase’ for food. For instance, I eat meat but I’m more of a fish person.

ABC Newsのウェブサイトでペットの好みに関するおもしろい記事 を読みました。犬より猫が好きな人は云々、その逆はどうこうという内容でした。

一応確認しておきますと、英語の dog people (dog person) は愛犬家のこと、cat people (cat person) は言うまでもなく猫好きのことです。

私は猫も好きだけど、犬は大好きです。どちらかと言えば dog person、犬派です。また、宵っ張りで、概して遅い時間のほうが生産的で能率が良い、つまり夜型の人間です。英語では night personです

この何々 personというフレーズは食べ物に関しても使えます。例えば、私はお肉も食べますが、どちらかと言えばお魚のほうが好き、つまり fish person です。
