When you come back from holidays or long weekends, you typically speak with your friends at work or school about what you did during the holidays.

Are you familiar with the expression “help yourself”? You may hear this phrase when you’re invited to dinner by a friend. There’s a whole bunch of food on the table and your host says “Help yourself”. That means “Enjoy your meal”. In other words, you can eat, without asking, to your heart’s content.

I spent the whole week working with a group of business people from the US. I was their interpreter. They were on an extremely tight schedule, visiting half a dozen customers or prospects each day. We hardly found the time to even have lunch. Then, one of the gentlemen said, “That’s okay, we’ll just grab a sandwich”.

US President Donald Trump used an interesting phrase in his recent tweet when he said he had watched low-rated Morning Joe for the first time in a long time.

Let me give you another phrase from the movie Frozen.

Just about a week ago, the whole nation was jubilant over Naomi Osaka’s victory at the Australian Open. That’s her second consecutive Grand Slam title and she is now ranked number one in the world.
